Top Fastest Cannabis Strains

    When there is little time for the life cycle of the plants, the grower is faced with a difficult choice - how do you select the fastest-growing cannabis strain so that the crops have time to mature? Premature harvesting or the death of an entire garden due to a fall frost can nullify all efforts.

Autoflowering strains - the pros and cons

    Unfortunately, the shorter the life cycle, the smaller the volume of harvest, because the plants are deprived of time for full vegetation, which would allow the development of a powerful trunk and branching structure for abundant flowering. 

    Autoflowering cannabis strains are characterized by a short vegetation period (2-3 weeks), followed by flowering, and within 7-8 weeks the garden is ready for harvest. Therefore, strains with the ability to autoflower are in fact the most rapid growing cannabis strains. The disadvantages of autoflowering strains are that their underpowered structure does not allow for pruning or mainlining; their short life span makes it impossible to improve cultivation technology during cultivation and thus increase yields; SCRoG or Sea of Green will affect yields, but it is impossible to achieve full growth in such a short time. Nevertheless, for ultra-fast cultivation, autoflowers are the way to go, as they at least have time to fully mature in 2-3 months.

Fast-growing marijuana strains

    If there is no rush, but a desire to grow what will grow sooner, we recommend low-growing indica strains and indica-dominant hybrids. Let's look at the highest yielding varieties of early maturing cannabis strains.

Banff, Canadian masterpiece – the variety is obtained by crossing Hindu Kush, a potent and very resinous Indica with Utopia Haze – an elite Brazilian Sativa variety that took first prize at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2008. The exotic combination of parental varieties gives a fast growing variety of commercial quality and big yields, with a fruity smell and 19-22% THC level. Full maturation from sprouting to harvest takes 3-4 months. The weight of the final product is 400-500 g per plant.

Afghanistan Lights, Indica. The genetic material of the classic Afghani is supplemented with a secret Indica strain, which gave Afghanistan Lights its zest – a woody and nutty aroma during flowering. This is a commercial variety – prolific, 20-23% THC, yielding 700-1000 g/m2 (under proper conditions) Full lifetime is about 14 - 16 weeks. 

Lowryder, Indica. It is impossible to ignore the first, the best and most yielding autoflower in history. This strain can be harvested almost twice as fast as photoperiodic marijuana. Its potecy will seem weak to very few users! Lowryder is the result of crossing the most brilliant Indica at the time of its creation, the famous Northern Lights with William’s Wonder and Mexican Ruderalis. The THC level is 18-20%, depending on how well the bush is handled. Lowryder yields about 300-400 g per plant. Despite its size, Lowryder can be considered a commercial marijuana variety.

AK-47, an indica-sativa hybrid. Compact plants with a branching structure and almost no foliage – AK-47 is more about flowers than leaves or branches. Short stature shortens the vegetative stage. The killing power of strain, high active ingredient content, and yield make AK-47 a medical cannabis suitable for commercial grows. Moreover, beginners can also cope with its cultivation, the strain is unpretentious. The harvest from one bush is 500-800 g. Matures for 3 months from sprouting to harvest time. Fuel-like scent with skunky acrid notes and fruity tones, the smell during flowering is intense. It blooms beautifully in orange. A fast growing marijuana strain in one word.

G-13 is a mysterious sativa-dominant strain. Its exact origin is not known. However, Hawaiian Sativas are suspected to be its predecessors. G-13 is a bright stimulating variety that fully matures within 8-10 weeks, allowing even outdoors cultivation in temperate climates (to be harvested late in September). G-13 is appropriate for commercial cultivation, its yield is about 500-900 g/m2, THC content 19-21%. The aroma is spicy, with a berry tinge. Classifies as a medical variety.
